I wanted to express my heartfelt and deepest sympathy to Steve’s family on his passing. I went to high school with Steve. We spent a lot of time playing basketball together during our summers at whatever gyms, playgrounds, parks, and schools the game took us. He was always very respectful to people around him and those he would meet. He was a pleasure and joy to have as a teammate at DCHS. His laughter and smile is a memory I shall not forget. I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers as you mourn his passing. Take care and be safe. God bless you Steve, RIP my brother and teammate. –Buz Brown

My thoughts and prayers are with Steve's loving family at this devastating time. I played on many basketball teams with Steve back in the day. He was a great person with an awesome personality. He was an excellent athlete and a good friend. He was also one of the best referees around and he was good enough to have done that at a higher level. I am so very sorry to hear about this loss. God Bless Steve and his family. RIP brother.

I went to high school with Steve, he was a great guy and was really nice to this shy girl, he was the kind of guy who could be friends with everyone. I didn't know him well, but he left a lasting impression. So sorry for his family and friends loss .

Steve has always been such a positive force. I was lucky enough to work with him in Seymour when our state director used to take us down for games. He worked at Midwest and was well liked there. I pray for his children and everyone that he left behind. I am glad to have known him.

Oh my dear friend! Words can only express so little when you want to say so much! I can remember way back when I first started umpiring and you were right there to give me advise whether I wanted it or not! From the beginning you and a few others made it known that they could not pick on me without them having to deal with you! It's been a few years since we've seen each other but you have always been a dear friend to me! I will never ever forget you and all our times we would spend out at the ballpark! Michelle, Cassie, and Sky, I am so sorry for your loss! As well as Steve's kids, friends and other family members, truly sorry! What a great man! Hold onto all your memories! Cherish them! Steve will live on in our hearts!
