Thelma J. (Bush) Simmons of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on August 8, 2021. She was 76 years old. Thelma was born on August 31, 1944 in West Virginia to father Woodrow Bush and mother Ada Mae (Simmons) Bush, who have preceded her in death.
Thelma lived as a homemaker, raising her family on the west side of Indianapolis. Thelma also helped her husband with the Republican voting polls in their neighborhood. She also served as a member of the Life Tabernacle Church.
Thelma is preceded in death by her husband Milton Stimmons, one grandson and two great-granddaughters. She leaves many to cherish her memory; son Kenneth Earl Simmons (Patricia); daughter Debra Culley (Lonnie); grandchildren Andrew Ball, Hannah Ball, Breighton Ball, Erik Culley, Angel Lane, and Dakota Simmons; step-grandchildren Jaime Sabo, Richard Surber, and Greg Culley.
On Friday, August 13, 2021 the Usher Funeral Home will host Thelma’s visitation from 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. At 5:00 P.M., Reverend Ronald Bowen will begin her funeral service. Friends and family are welcome to meet on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Whitestown, Indiana to lay Thelma to rest.
