Stephanie Ilene Smith

Stephanie Ilene Smith, 51, of Indianapolis passed away September 4, 2021. She was born January 10, 1970 to Vicki and Steve Smith. Stephanie was a member of St. Ann Church.

Stephanie has always been competitive. As a child, she competed in the Special Olympics in multiple track and field events, winning many gold medals. Stephanie was also an accomplished artistic roller-skater, spending countless hours at Melody Skateland. She became a competitive skater at 9 years old. Bowling was another favorite sport of Stephanie’s and she recently won 1st place in Adult/Junior league with nephew Kevin. Stephanie never gave minimal effort. She strived for success in all endeavors. After graduating from Ben Davis High School in 1988, Stephanie worked at Herff Jones in the inspection department. She later found her career in banking, spending over 20 years with Fifth Third Bank. She received degree training from American Institute of Banking.

Stephanie’s family was her life. She enjoyed all gatherings, holidays, and special occasions with her loved ones. She had a big heart and a giving spirit. Stephanie loved Christmas. She was an avid sports fan. The Colts, the Pacers, and IU Basketball were her favorite teams to watch. Stephanie loved to shop, garden, and spend time with her dogs Ginger and Oscar.

Stephanie is preceded in death by her grandparents and her father. She is survived by her mother Vicki (Steve) Worsham, brothers Stephen Smith, Jr., Christopher Smith, and Adam Worsham, sister Angie Evans, nieces Victoria Smith and Kristen Smith, nephews Stephen Smith III and Kevin Smith, great-nephew George Smith, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Stephanie's funeral service will begin at 3:00 P.M. Monday, September 13, 2021 at Usher Funeral Home. Visitation is from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. on Monday. Those who wish to express their condolences online are welcome to do so at www.usherfuneralhome.com
