Sister Cecilia Mary Sartorius, Little Sister of the Poor died on October 5, 2021 at the age of 78.  Born October 10, 1942 in Detroit to the late Anne and Charles Sartorius, she is survived by two brothers, Michael (Jan), Patrick (Roz) and nine nieces and nephews. After professing her Vows in 1963 and for the next 58 years she devoted herself to serving the needy elderly in homes throughout the United States.  She has been at St. Augustine’s Home since September 2017. Gifted with a joyful spirit and ready availability, she drew others to know and love St. Jeanne Jugan, foundress of the Little Sisters of the Poor.  Due to Covid precautions an outdoor Mass of Christian burial is planned for Friday, October 8th at 10:30am at St. Augustine’s Home with a visitation in the St. Jeanne Jugan garden patio starting at 9am.  Burial will follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery  

In lieu of flowers, donations honoring the elderly poor served by Sr Cecilia Mary may be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor at St. Augustine’s Home, 2345 W. 86th St., Indianapolis, 46260.
