Shawna Lee West Smith, 50, from Indianapolis Indiana passed away unexpectedly September 5, 2021, at 2:12 a.m. with family members by her side. Born in East Chicago, Indiana on April 20, 1971.

Being the oldest of four children she loved being the boss and always telling them what to do. She was also reminding them that I am the oldest and I am Mom’s favorite. Shawna was a compassionate, caring, giving, loving person who would do anything for anyone if they asked. Christmas and Thanksgiving were her favorite holidays but she Carried the Spirit of Christmas with her every day and shared it with everyone she loved, she loves giving gifts and surprising people. She was always there to brighten the lives of others and never met a stranger. She loved video chatting with someone and putting on goofy filters and taking all kinds of silly pictures and acting up. Her laughter and her giggles were contagious.

She will be forever cherished and remembered by her daughter Shelby Lee Phillips (Danny) of Darlington, Indiana. and her two sons Jordan M Phillips and Cody M Smith from Bloomington, Indiana. Surviving with her children are her mother Debra L. Harris from Clearwater Florida, her father James E. West (Peggy) of Anderson, Indiana. A sister, Trisha L. Teague (Rick) Darlington, Indiana. A brother Michael R. West (Amy) Plainfield, Indiana and a sister Michelle R. Higgins (Mike) of Indianapolis Indiana.

Shawna was fortunate to have come from a very large family and was blessed to have many aunts and uncles cousins nieces and nephews, plus she was very excited about being a great aunt of two little girls.

Shawna was preceded in death by her stepfather James J Harris, her maternal grandparents Glenn and Betty Thornburg, and paternal grandparents Harry and Elizabeth (Betty) West

She is missed by all who knew and loved her.
