Rodney John McClelland, 72 of Indianapolis passed away January 9, 2024. He was born August 9, 1951 in Orange, Texas to Tilford and Irene (Richard) McClelland. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his siblings, Jimmy Dale McClelland, Bobby Lyons, Sonny McClelland. Rodney was a welder/fabricator. He had worked for J.K. Elrod in Indianapolis. Rodney was a U.S. Army veteran and served his country in Vietnam. He was a member of the Ernie Pyle VFW Post 1120. He is survived by his wife, Darcella (Williams) McClelland; daughters, Rhonda McClelland, Rae Ma McClelland, Maggie McClelland; step daughters, Stacey (Brian Reardon) Stamatkin, Sarah (Cole) Causey, Ryan Stamatkin, Ericka (John) Vondersaar; siblings, Angela Quienalty, Garney (Mac) McClelland, Wanda McClelland, Katherine Heddins and Rayford McClelland; grandchildren, Kylee and Isabella McClelland, Dahlton McClelland and Max Lind, Cody McClelland; step grandchildren, Cailey Reardon, Bennett Hunter, Ada Causey, Hendrix Stamatkin, Addison Vondersaar, Alexis Schneider, Gavin Schneider.
A Celebration of Rodney's Life will be held at 2pm Saturday, April 6, 2024 at the VFW Post #2839, 3368 W. Wilcox Street, Indianapolis, IN 46222.
