Oran Eugene Chastain

Oran Eugene Chastain, 96 of Indianapolis passed away on October 10, 2025.  He was born on November 30, 1928 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Oran and Freida Chastain who have preceded  him in death.  Oran was also preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Chastain; son, David Chastain; grandsons,Christopher Chastain and David Chastain.  Oran was a long time member of Lakeview Temple and was a Navy Veteran.  Oran was a retired carpenter.  He was a member of the Carpenters Union Local 60.  He had worked at Indy Walls and Sandborn Electric.    He is survived by his sons, Gregory (Judy) Chastain, Mark (Sandra) Chastain, and Marty (Linda) Chastain; grandchildren, Christy (Mike) Schmidt, Shannon Chastain, Jason Chastain, Lindsey Chastain, and Ashley Chastain; great-grandchildren, Everliegh Pingleton, McKayla Parrish, and Logan Doucet.

Funeral services for Mr. Chastain are 2pm Friday, October 17, 2025 at the Usher Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Floral Park Cemetery.  Visitation is from 12pm - 2pm Friday, October 17, 2025 at the Usher Funeral Home.  Online condolences may be offered at usherfuneralhome.com
