Kimila Y. Murphy, 63, West Lafayette passed away on Monday August 22, 2022. She was born on Thursday, December 11, 1958 to Orel Wayne and Ladonna Sue (Mitchell) Gilliatt in Lafayette, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Orel Wayne and Ladonna Sue (Mitchell) Gilliatt, and granddaughter Charlotte Rose Murphy.
She is survived by husband Patrick B. Murphy, 5 sons Nathaniel (wife Mindy) Murphy, Justin (wife Alexzandra) Murphy, Corban (wife Andria) Murphy, Micah Murphy, Aaron Murphy, 2 daughters Candace (husband Cody) Glover, Kaitlynn (husband Joseph) Sebald, 2 sisters Vickie (husband Robert) walter, Dawn (husband Matt) Fair, 15 grandchildren Kylee, Madeliene, Christopher, Josiah, Tobias, Ariannah, Hudson, Wyatt, Adeline, Liam, Murphy Lee, William, Eleanor, Ruby, Opal, and many extended family and friends.
Kimila graduated from Jefferson High School and attended Ivy Tech. Upon graduation she was employed at ALCOA in the Drafting and Design Department.
Kimila was an amazing woman! Her home making skills were surpassed by few. She homeschooled all of her children. Kimila put her trust and faith in Jesus Christ early in her life. She lived that faith everyday. She is famous for her Christmas cookies which she baked for all of Patrick's students at Sunnyside, Tecumseh, and Jefferson every year of his 40 year career! Kimila organized and prepared countless meals for wedding showers, rehearsal dinners, small group Bible studies, Christmas parties, and much more. Kimila was an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother! We will all miss her everyday, but realize the everlasting life purchased through the shed blood of Jesus Christ will be absolutely amazing for eternity!
