Obituary


   John Douglas (Doug) Gilpatrick, 73 of Santa Fe, N.M., passed away September 24, 2022. He was born in Evansville, Indiana, and graduated from Evansville North High school. He went on to earn two bachelors degrees in Electrical Engineering (EE) at Purdue University and a Masters Degree at the University of New Mexico. He worked his entire career at Los Alamos National Laboratory, Los Alamos, N.M., in the Proton Accelerator complex. He enjoyed sailing, hiking, biking, cooking, traveling, and being around friends. 

   Doug is survived by his wife, Susan Velte, his sister Kathleen Church and nieces and nephews Julia Kozicki, Jay Church, Laura Fuller and Lee Gilpatrick. He was preceded in death by his parents Welker L. and Laura Lloyd Gilpatrick and his brother Welker Lee Gilpatrick. 

   A Celebration of John's life will be held at 4:30pm, Saturday,  November 12, 2022 at the Law Office of Church, Church, Hittle and Antrim, 2 N 9th Street. Noblesville, IN 46060.  Online remembrances and condolences can be made at usherfuneralhome.com.
