Janis “Jan” Faye Fletcher
July 5, 1951 – August 27, 2021
Jan Faye Fletcher, 70, of Crawfordsville, passed away on August 27, 2021 at Lane House Nursing Home. She was the third of five children born in Greencastle, Indiana to Raymond Victor and Georgia Mae (Wolven) Surber.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Dan.
She graduated from Roachdale High School in 1969 and Freed-Hardman University in 1971 with her associates degree. She married her husband, David Simpson Fletcher, on March 12, 1972. She was a devout Christian, a member of the Englewood Dr. Church of Christ in Crawfordsville. She was a loving stay-at-home mother to her five children. She later became the office manager for her husband’s chiropractic business, which she did for about 20 years. She was always a good listener, and more than willing to share her wisdom and advice.
She is survived by her husband, David of Crawfordsville, four sons, Michael (wife Amber) Fletcher of Lockhart, TX, Russell Fletcher and Kevin Fletcher of Crawfordsville, and Robert (wife Shamelle) Fletcher of San Antonio, TX, and one daughter, Rachel (husband Ryan) Clidienst, of Spencer, IN, as well as 11 grandchildren - Camryn, Cason, Callen, Caden, Jonah, Simon, Isaiah, Akeylah, and Aniyah Fletcher and Caleb and Charity Clidienst. Her brothers Timothy (wife Terry) Surber of Crawfordsville and David (wife Melanie) Surber of Nashville, TN and her sister Julie (the late Don) Dickman of Crawfordsville, sister-in-law Theresa (the late Dan) Surber, many nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends.
She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be from 4 – 7pm, Thursday Sept 2 at the Church of Christ, 419 N Englewood Dr., Crawfordsville, IN 47933, with the funeral services immediately following 7 pm.
Burial services held at 10 am on Friday Sept 3 at Mace Cemetery.
