James W Russell, Jr.

James W. “Bill”  Russell, Jr., 60 of Indianapolis passed away June 14, 2025.  He was born July 1, 1964 in Norton, Virginia to James William and Faye (Marcum) Russell who have preceded him in death.  He was also preceded in death by his brother Toby Russell.  Bill had most recently worked for Brehob Corporation where he was a Senior Motor Technician.  He had also worked for many years at Moran Electric.  James enjoyed fishing, auto racing, Notre Dame sports, Cincinnati Reds baseball,  and also the Indianapolis Colts and the Indiana Pacers.  He loved throwing darts with his son, Casey.  Every Sunday he would stream worship services from Salt Gum Baptist Church in Kentucky where his cousin Kennan is the Pastor.  Bill is survived by his wife Melanie D. (Christian) Russell; son, Casey (Onna) Russell; daughter, Ashley (Evan) Goldsberry; sisters, Janie (Pete) Bolinsky, Perette (Steve) Staletovich; granddaughter, Norah Boffo.  He is also survived by 3 sister in laws, 2 brother in laws and many nieces and nephews.

A remembrance service for Bill will take place at 5pm Thursday, June 19, 2025 at the Usher Funeral Home.  Visitation is from 2pm-8pm on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at the Usher Funeral Home.  Online condolences may be offered at usherfuneralhome.com
