Cheryl Ann Crissen (69), passed on Sunday, January 11th, 2026, with her daughter by her side. Throughout her life, Cheryl was passionate about caring for others. The career choice she made came as no surprise when she served as a Certified Nurse at a senior care facility in Edinburgh, Indiana. Her career ended abruptly due to a major back injury that rendered her disabled to continue in the field she loved. This setback didn’t detract from how driven she was to care for others as her heart was always open and she loved BIG! Those that knew Cheryl well knew she also had a love for going to bingo and crocheting. She had talent for crocheting meaningful items for use like winter hats, baby clothes and blankets. Up to eight years ago, when she went blind, she made prayer shawls for everyone she knew. What a beautiful way to let her loved ones know that she cared. Cheryl left subtle symbols as a reminder for us all to be kind; she will be missed but not forgotten.
Cheryl has joined her late Husband, John R. Crissen Sr. and her mother Bonnie J. Powell.
Cheryl is survived by her 3 children William Campbell, Candice and Edward Crissen and his wife Angela. Her grandchildren Chandler, Austin, Leyton Crissen and Brendon Gibbs. Great grandchildren Milo Crissen. Cheryl was also survived by her significant other Kenny Fallen and her sister Lorna Bishop.
Services will be held at Usher Funeral Home on Thursday, January 29, 2026, with visitation from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, funeral service at 12:00pm. Burial at Floral Park Cemetery will follow.
