Bobby Gene Murley, 57, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on June 12, 2021. Bobby was born on May 13, 1964 to his late parents Willie Hall Murley and Wanda J (Logsdon) Murley.
Bobby was a tremendous father, friend, and brother, and he truly touched the lives of those around him. Bob was so incredibly proud of his boys and all of their accomplishments. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, camping, attending classic car shows, riding motorcycles, and working on cars.
Bobby owned a very successfully masonry company until 2010 when he was in a life-threatening car accident. His sons, Bobby II and Eli, worked alongside him while learning the trade. Although the company was forced to end, the dream lived on. Until Bob’s passing, he and Eli aspired to recreate the dream, only this time under Eli’s ownership.
During Bob’s time as a local business owner, he gave back to the community in several ways. For many years, he sponsored the Mooresville Junior Soccer, Baseball, and Football programs. He donated brick and layed all the brick for Habitat For Humanity. Bob also sponsored the Morgan County Humane Society’s “Hogs for Dogs” event. He sponsored several families in need during the Christmas season. Overall, Bob was the most generous person who would give his all before he took anything in return.
Bob is survived by his sons, Bobby II, Eli, and Max; sister, Wanda Gene Rice; brothers, Clarence and John Murley; former wife and dear friend Elizabeth Murley Gershanoff; and five grandchildren, Kassie Murley, Brayden, Preston, Kane Alexander, and Jaxson.
On Friday, June 18, 2021 from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. the Usher Funeral Home will be hosting Bobby's visitation. At 2:00 P.M., the funeral service will begin. We will be meeting at White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville, Indiana for burial. Those who wish to express their condolences online may do so at www.usherfuneralhome.com
