Obituary

Shawnita Andrus-39 years old

When the sunrise on February 22, 1984 Veronica Pate and Gary D. Tyler gave birth to a beautiful Baby Girl named Shawnita Lee in Washington D.C. at sunset in Indianapolis, Indiana on February 12, 2024 a beautiful soul left this earth and her name was Shawnita Andrus.

Shawnita is one of seven siblings, Joseph Lee, Karshelia (George) Givens, Veronica Lee and Rico (Ty) Lee, Bryan Alston and Aushaila Love.

On July 2, 2005 she married the love of her life, Russell Andrus.  On that date she gained another beautiful mother, Mary Egan.  They started their life together and they made three wonderful, amazing kids, Veronica Andrus, Russell Andrus, II and Janet Andrus.  These three beautiful babies and Russell were her life.  She was a mother and she dedicated her life to her family.  She was and always will be the love of Russell's life. Shawnita's family grew in June, 2005 when her mother Veronica married to Brian Pate.  She gained more siblings, Danielle Warren, Socorro Pate, Ebony Saxton, Portia Pate, Indyola Pate, Maia Pate and Thia Pate.  When Shawn loved she loved hard.  If you were on the receiving end of her love you were blessed and safe.  She enjoyed fishing, bonfires and hanging with friends and family.  She also loved taking pictures of nature scenes. She was always extremely proud of her babies and when I say babies, I mean every last one of them, her baby nieces and nephews.  Shawnita was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, and friend.

Throughout Shawns life she lost a lot of people.  She was preceded in death by her grandfather, James Ball; cousins, Jonathan Franklin, Janet Lee and Brandon Lee ; great grandmother, Ruth Lee
