James Elmer Gerholdt, Sr, 63, of Indianapolis, died on July 31, 2026.  He was born on November 29, 1962 in Indianapolis to Leonard Elmer Gerholdt and Shirley Lee (Patterson) Schell, who have preceded him in passing.  James was also preceded in death by his lifetime father, Donald Schell.  James was self-employed in the construction industry.  He is survived by his wife, Sandra Dee (Edwards) Gerholdt; son, James (Haley) Gerholdt, Jr.; daughters, Ashley (Steve) Bilz, and Samantha Gerholdt; brothers, Leonard (Teresa) Gerholdt, Bill Gerholdt; sister, Robin (Marion) Daudy; and grandchild, Aubree Smith.

Funeral Services are Monday, August 10, 2026 at 2pm at the Usher Funeral Home.  Visitation for James will be from 12:00pm until the time of service.  Burial will follow the funeral service at Floral Park Cemetery.
