Gerda M. (Vormwald) Koontz, 79, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on February 15, 2021. She was born on June 6, 1941 in Germany to her parents Carl and Anna Vormwald. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband James Koontz and sister Hilda Shrock.

Gerda worked in the laundry at the Framde House Manor. Prior to working at Frame House, she was a waitress, bartender, and cook at Mike's Bar, Rosemont Tavern, Idle Hour Bar, and Working Man's Friend. Gerda belonged to Moose Lodge #500. Left to cherish her memory are her children Eric Sterrett, Patricia Francies, and Lisa Smith, six grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
