Ann (Sheridan) Bordenkecher, 87, of Indianapolis, passed away on April 16, 2026. She was born on December 12, 1938, in Indianapolis to the late George and Mildred (Dichmann) Sheridan.
Ann graduated from St. John Academy in 1956 and began work at Link-Belt, where she worked until 1972. She stayed home to rear her children until the mid-1980's, at which time she began working at All Saints Catholic School, where she worked as a librarian and eventually as an office secretary/bookkeeper until her retirement. Ann was also a part-time employee at Usher Funeral Home for many years, playing the organ for services and working in the office.
Ann was a lifelong member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, of which her grandfather was a founding parishioner. She was the organist for the church for over 60 years, and worked tirelessly on numerous groups and committees. Ann married Joe Bordenkecher on June 14, 1969 at St. Anthony, eventually raising a family of four children. Throughout her life, Ann was an avid bowler, an exercise enthusiast, enjoyed many types of music, and was dedicated to her children and grandchildren. She also loved traveling, citing New York as her favorite place to visit and counting Bulgaria, Ireland, Italy, France, Portugal, Spain and Israel as places visited.
Ann is survived by her four children and their spouses: Dan (Kelli), John (Paula), Millie (Chris Weber), and Robert (Julie); five grandchildren: Danielle (Harsh Ilapakurthi), Colton Payne, Lucas, Lexie, and Harper; nieces Kathy Medley and Margaret Kristler; sisters-in-law: Margaret Kennedy, Carolyn Hines, Pauline Graf and numerous other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joe, her parents, her beloved aunts Marie and Sadie Sheridan, brother Phil, sister Mary, and an infant son.
Visitation will be from 4pm - 8pm with the Holy Rosary said at 6:30pm on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at Usher Funeral Home, 2313 W. Washington St., Indianapolis. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11am. on Friday, April 24, 2026 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 337 N. Warman Ave., Indianapolis. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to St. Augustine Home for the Aged, 2345 W. 86th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46260
