Obituary

Aliene J. Coleman, 86 of Carmel, passed away Monday, February 14, 2022.  Mrs. Coleman was born September 11, 1935 in Indianapolis to Grover and Willa Mae Neville, who have preceded her in death.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lucien Coleman; daughter, Connie Coleman-Mitchell; siblings, Evelyn Johnson, Billy Neville (Verdean), George Neville, Alvin Lee Neville and Cheryl Rogers.

Aliene was retired from Methodist Hospital where she had worked as a secretary for 28 years.  Aliene had volunteered as the Sunday School Superintendent at Greater Galilee Missionary Baptist Church.  She was a member of Eastern Star Church and attended Sunday school services at Second Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her children, Corine Hollins, Barbara Knight (Charles "Tony"), Aaron Coleman (Gale); sisters, Carolyn Verdean Jackson (James), Tina E. Ramseur, Vicki Neville; brothers, Sony Neville (Beverly) Grover Howard; grandchildren, Cheryl Coleman, Joseph Hollins III (Patrycja); great grandchildren, Dion Coleman, Dejon Wooden, Trinity Hollins; great-great grandchildren, Imani, Jordan, Aiden and Blayze and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Second Presbyterian Church, 7700 N. Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN 46260.  Visitation is from 11am-12pm with service to begin at 12pm.
