Alexandre Jean Lee Merchiers, 19, passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022. He was born on Wednesday, March 20, 2002 in Indianapolis, IN to Angela Dawn (Franklin) Cattet and Emmanuel Jean Merchiers.

Alexandre grew up in Speedway and graduated from Decatur Central class of 2020. He was the second of three children. Alex was a wild man with a big heart, a champion of the underdogs, quick-witted and carefree and always the animal lover. His sly smile will be eternally etched into the memories of those who knew him. He brought levity to even the heaviest of circumstances and we must carry that spirit with us, remembering to never let our sense of fun and wonder be dimmed. Alex was a beloved son, brother, and father who will be forever missed.

Alexandre is survived by mother Angela Dawn (Franklin) Cattet and father Emmanuel Jean Merchiers, step mother Carol Merchiers, son Ashton, sister Chloe Merchiers, brother Kyle Canatsey, step sister Shannon Cattet, step brother Anthony Cattet and extended family & friends.
