Saddened to learn of Hugh John's recent passing. I hadn't seen him in years, but he was a longtime close friend of my mom's and dad's (Billy and Iwo Vann) and a good friend of mine from my teens. Huey was one of the kindest, funniest guys I can remember. Lots of great memories. After dad passed, he visited mom until her death in 2003. I'm sure his light is burning brightly as he makes his new journey. Cathe Vann

We played cards, went to Swampy's, Westside Social Club and played golf for over the 50 plus years we knew each other. When we played golf with Hughie and my brothers he said he was being Vesterized. He will be missed.

Hugh John was a good friend of my uncle, Richard Bugher. I remember Hugh John very fondly. Many times when my uncle, UD as we called him, was looking after us kids, Hugh John was there to help out. I'm not sure how good a job they did watching us, but we all survived so that says something. Hugh John was a really nice guy. I'm sorry for your loss.

i WAS THE LIFE & HEALTH INSURANCE AGENT FOR HOLLENBECK AND HAD A GREAT TIME WITH 'HUGH BOY''. ALWAYS REMEMBER HE WOULD HAVE ABOUT - 7 - NAMES TO PUT DOWN AS BENEIFICARY ON THE LIFE INSURANCE APP.. YES THATS RIGHT - 7 - OR MORE. DIDN'T WANT TO MISS ANYONE IN THE FAMILY. WE SOMETIMES WOULD BEND OUR ELBOWS AT THE ANTELOPE CLUB. LOOK FORWARD TO DATE OF HIS MEMORIAL

That is so funny...7 beneficiaries! There were only four other siblings! You do realize now that you have pitted his 16 "FAVORITE" nieces and nephews against each other! CLASSIC HJD!!
