Welcome to the memorial page for

Rosemary M Mahoney

September 27, 1924 ~ February 26, 2013 (age 88) 88 Years Old
Rosemary Mahoney, age 88 of Indianapolis, IN passed away on February 26, 2013 following a year long courageous battle with cancer.

To honor her wishes there will not be a funeral service. Her ashes will be spread over "The Place" on the lake which will bring all eternal peace.  She was an expert 'fisherwoman' and couldn't wait to spend time with family and friends at the lake.  She helped her family and friends appreciate the great outdoors and enjoyed the small things whether it was picking bittersweet vines off a fence, catching toads, or trying to catch the 'big one'.  We will never forget the time spent experiencing life outdoors with you.

Rosemary was born in Indiana on September 27, 1924.  She ventured to California at 18 to try her hand as one of the first roller skating gas station attendants.  Rosemary also worked for Shakespeare Company hosting skills contests at shows for guests to cast a fishing plug in a ring.

She had a successful career with RCA in the Quality Control department for over 40 years.  She was a pioneer for women working in a male dominated field and proved it by winning more suggestion awards than anyone in the company’s history.

Her family and friends will deeply miss her candid personality.  She always spoke her mind and made everyone around her feel at ease.  Rosemary also loved to joke around and had such a great sense of humor…not forced, just genuine.

She is survived by her brother and wife, Norman and Kay Mahoney; nieces Shannon Crowe, Linda Spencer, and Janice Schwuchow and families; and nephew Pat Mahoney.

She had many blessed friends who were like family. Our gratitude to Janet Bailey, Christine Moore, and  Alberta Bickford who carried out her final request allowing her to remain at home.

Rosemary is preceded in death by parents Clarence G. and Marie Margaret Mahoney and brothers James J. and Robert F. Mahoney.

Rosemary will be greatly missed by her family and friends.  We love you!
