Ron took the green flag on March 2nd 1941 in Indianapolis, IN. He grew up in Avon, IN. He ran fast and clean - loved nothing more than working on a race car or jumping over the pit wall and never met a stranger.

Grandfather to Mandy & Joe Huss, Jamey Owens, Carlie Owens, Katie & Dean Brandt, Luke O'Brien; great-grandfather to Tori, Dawston & Madi. In addition to his children & grandchildren he is survived by his brother Charles & sister-in-law Susan Kepler - Santa Barbra, CA and brother David Kepler - Pittsboro. Ron is also survived by former wives Bonnie Pumfrey, Darlene Stone and her children.
He was preceded in death by his parents Audrey & Howard Kepler, sister Skip Belser & brother Jack Kepler.
As a young man, Ron worked at Link Belt he also owned and operated Kepler’s Phillips 66 in Avon, IN; He later managed R&J Body shop Brownsburg, IN and Highland Estates in Indianapolis, IN. During his retirement years he loved doing yard work for friends and neighbors around his home on Mooresville Rd. Ron also worked for his brother David at Smoker’s Choice. Ron had far too many friends to list here, but all of you know who you are - he spoke of you often with love and admiration.
He will be sadly missed by his children, family, friends and his dog Foxy. Ron’s children would like to especially thank Uncle David for his unwavering support, love & compassion as well as all of his nurses & doctors at St Francis Hospital and Hospice House. Your grace, care and support are extraordinary.
Finally, the good Lord waived Ron's checkered flag on January 29th 2016.
