John Merlin Roach

John Merlin (Cocky) Roach, 98 passed away January 31, 2016.  He was born June 23, 1917 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Agnes E. and John F. Roach.  John was a 1935 graduate of George Washington High School in Indianapolis and was a long time resident of Speedway, Indiana.

A World War II veteran, John worked at Allison's GM for 40 years, retiring in 1980. John and his wife Eva were 64 year members of Speedway Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 78 years, Eva W. Sanford Roach who passed away in 2014.  John is survived by his sons, Jack (Sally) Roach, Jim (Vicki) Roach; grandchildren, Jim ( Mary) Roach, Terri (Scott) Allbee, Jay (Liz) Roach, Julie (Bill) Bryant, Jill (Jason) Willoughby and 15 great grandchildren.

A private family calling will be held at Usher Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Floral Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Speedway Christian Church, 5110 W. 14th Street, Speedway, IN 46224
